Programming C#, 2nd Edition by Jesse Liberty is a good book. I wouldn't say it's a book that you have to run out and buy if you want to learn C#. All you have to do, really, is look at Microsoft's documentation. Then, when you're done crying AND you've accepted the fact that, yes, God does indeed hate you and you alone, you should grab a copy of this book. It's well written and proceeds at a reasonable pace. My only complaint is that it focuses on VS.NET and ignores the .NET SDK.
This book is pure bling-bling if you want to learn the C# language. For doing non-language based technical stuff stuff, it gives short introductions to get you hooked on how easy it all is... but to go in depth stuff you have to buy other O'Reilly or MS Press books.
Purchase from amazon.com.
